Charlie Nicholas has talked up the possibility of veteran Spanish midfielder Cesc Fabregas signing for Scottish Premiership giants Celtic during this winter transfer window.
On Cesc Fabregas, Nicholas wrote that he met with the Spanish international at a recent Arsenal game and that he’s still fit. According to him, Fabregas wants to carrying on playing for the next one or two years. Fabregas is not a regular at French team AS Monaco at the moment and Nicholas thinks Celtic can take advantage of the situation though his wages would definitely be a problem for the Scottish club.
On the wages, Nicholas said that Celtic can reach an agreement with Monaco to pave the way for them to take Cesc Fabregas. The footballer-turned-pundit suggested that the Scottish team could pay a fraction of the wages.
Fabregas has six months left on his contract with AS Monaco and it’s almost certain that the Spaniard will leave the club. With the player still keen to continue his football career despite entering veteran stage, a free transfer move is on the cards in the summer. The Spanish midfielder has played for clubs such as Chelsea, Arsenal and Barcelona during his career.
